Improving Portable Gas Monitor with Strategic Partnership

A new strategic partnership has been officially signed by International Gas Detectors Ltd with SENKO Co., Ltd., to be their representative in the EU and UK for single gas portable monitors and multi portable gas monitors.

This new strategic partnership enables IGD to supply their clients with ATEX certified confined space monitors. Both IGD and SENKO can now access new markets and opportunities because of this union.

Who is SENKO?

SENKO was established in South Korea in 2004, and is a gas sensor developer and manufacturer. Their portable gas monitors are being utilized and marketed by a number of well-known companies in the gas detection industry.

Their unique cutting-edge portable monitor design supplies clients with a reliable, robust, and cost-effective portable gas monitor. This pairing of IGD and SENKO is a historic moment in the gas detection industry.

IGD has invested months in testing the SENKO portable monitors to make sure they have chosen the right product and company to partner with. Common goals are shared between SENKO and IGD, they both have the same commitment to product quality, product design, and customer satisfaction.

Which portable monitors do SENKO and IGD now provide?

The strategic partnership between SENKO and IGD now enables IGD to supply customers with various ATEX/IECEx and intrinsically safe certified monitors. These include the standard four gas monitors for confined space applications: Flammable, CO, H2S, and Oxygen.

The four gases can either be fitted with pellistor sensors or Infrared technology for flammable gases. Reusable gas monitors are now available for the following gases:

  • Ammonia
  • Hydrogen Sulphide
  • Oxygen
  • Sulfur Dioxide
  • Carbon Monoxide
  • Hydrogen
  • Nitrogen Dioxide
  • Carbon Dioxide

In order to ensure that the detectors are long-lasting and one of the most robust portable detectors on the market, the monitors have a unique design and build. Additionally, SENKO portables feature long-life sensor technology like IGD’s fixed monitors. Every portable gas monitor has a guaranteed 2 year warranty.

Yet, when maintained correctly the sensors should last between 3-5 years. With the long-life sensor technology and unique robust design, this makes the SENKO range of portable monitors extremely cost-effective both upfront and long term.

The portable monitors are built and tested to an incredibly high standard even with the reduced cost of ownership, ensuring customers have a portable monitor that they can rely on.

We are pleased and proud that IGD have chosen SENKO as their partner for portable gas detection. Not only do IGD have a long history of supplying high quality fixed gas detection products, but their ethos and drive is a great match for that of SENKO; recognising the value of knowledge, expertise and support in ensuring the customer gets the best possible solution for their gas detection applications.  We are sure this will lead to a long and successful relationship for both SENKO and IGD.

Why did IGD partner with SENKO?

IGD chose to partner and distribute the SENKO portable gas monitors for a number of reasons. The main reason was that their range of portable monitors is made to an extremely high standard. Furthermore, their company ethos matched IGD’s in supplying clients with high quality, reliable, and cost-effective gas detectors while putting the customer first.

The SENKO unique sensor design is also featured, which means they are one of the most durable monitors available on the market. Lastly, IGD has chosen to partner, promote, and distribute the SENKO range because within the industry, they already have a high reputation.

Going Forwards - What does this union mean?

Firstly, the partnership now enables IGD to supply a range that is more diverse. The company manufactures their own fixed gas detection equipment and a variety of non-ATEX portable gas monitors.

Confined space and ATEX certified portable detectors can now be offered because of the SENKO portable monitors. This opens new markets for IGD and enables them to give their clients the complete safety solution, backed by training from SENKO.

For SENKO this means they now have an independent, well established gas detection manufacturer in IGD who will promote their brand of portable monitors and advanced technology and have a local service center for the EU and UK and market.

IGD spent a long time considering whether or not to commence design and manufacture of our own range of confined space monitors. When we discussed options with SENKO and reviewed their product; we saw their commitment to design quality and service more than met our expectations. Rather than introduce another brand of confined space monitor, it made more sense to form a long-term partnership with SENKO Korea. We are extremely happy to announce this partnership and we are excited to introduce the range to our customers.

Availability of Monitors and Service

IGD now has stock available for both the range of single gas detectors and the confined space monitors. This allows them to be able to supply next day delivery to meet site requirements and clients demands.

Further to the new stock availability, their technicians have completed the service training on all the SENKO monitors. This was carried out over a video conference call and has enabled them to become an official service center for the SENKO gas detectors for both Europe and the UK.

They can supply a fast turnaround, detectors can be calibrated and repaired within 48 hrs. This supplies IGDs clients with an effective, local service center for their SENKO portable monitors, ensuring that there is little downtime between services.
